PFAS is a family of more than 3,000 man made fluorinated organic chemicals that have been produced since the mid-1900s. They are mobile, persistent, and, in some cases, bio- accumulative. PFAS chemicals are resistant to degradation in the environment, and when degradation occurs, it often results in the formation of other PFAS compounds. These "forever chemicals" stay in the human body for years and are fueling a public health crisis in drinking and industrial water.
PreFAS is GEG's process for the pretreatment conditioning of wastewater to provide a 6x to 8x extension to the carbon life. In combination with carbon, GEG media can potentially create a sludge compatible for Sludge to Feedstock management.
