At Global Environmental Group we believe there is a better way to handle manufacturing wastewater solids; a more economical, environmentally safe way where waste is recycled and not just disposed in landfills. Each year the industrial sector generates millions of tons of solid waste from production processes that are sent for disposal.
We have developed a proprietary patent-pending process where industrial wastewater is pretreated and the remaining industrial solids (sludge) are used as a raw material in the production of cement. In 2017, approximately 86.3 million tons of cement were produced in the United States. Not only is our system a beneficial use for waste, but it also meets the increasing demand for cement.
GEG's vertically integrated solutions give generators a long term, sustainable and cost comparable alternative to the traditional methods of landfilling, landfarming and waste-to-energy.
We are also in development of geographically appropriate aggregation blending facilities to manage smaller volume sludge to feedstock streams. Our facility accepts non-hazardous industrial and municipal ARM streams from a variety of regional customer locations. GEG’s conditioned and dewatered industrial wastewater treatment sludges are engineered to meet the strict quality assurance and quality control standards required by the cement kilns.
By effectively repurposing these by-products, we can divert waste from our landfills reducing negative environmental impacts and helping companies meet their sustainability goals.
